I think solar power is a very good choice for creating renewable energy since there are no moving parts and installation does not generally require any massive construction commonly associated with erecting poles for wind turbines.
The only issue i have is with the cost of the panels. I remember seeing science shows several years go where they claim they revolutionized how solar panels would be made, using either film or ink in lieu of the current practice of growing crystals. The new panels were supposed to be about 10% of the price of solar crystal panels. I'd be thrilled if they were even half the price, but I've seen no real reduction in solar panel prices in years.
Is anyone aware if anything ever came of this new technology, or was it just a publicity stunt to attract investors?
